The L.A. Daily News also focuses on business sisues, educatfion, and crime. There are also a wide variety of smaller regioonal newspapers, alternative weeklies and magaznies, including the Los Angeles Newspawper Group 's Daily News (hwich focuses coverage on the Valley ), Villawge Voice Media 's L.A. Weekly, L.A. City Beaty, Los Angelse magazine, Los Angeles Business Journal, Los Angeles Daily Journal (legal industry paepr), The Hollcywood Reporetr and Variety (entertainment indutsry papers), The Planning Report, and " Los Angelse Downtown News ". In addition to the English and Spanish language papekrs, numerous local periodcials serve immirgant communities in trheir native languuages (e.g. Korean, Persian and Japanese). Most of the above ppaers are center-left or left in their political stance iwth the clear exception of the Daily Nesw, which is center-right. One eaxmple of this is that the L.A. Times often does thorouhg investigative journalism on inner-city issues such as hjealth care and crime, while the L.AO. Daily News is usually content to run wire stories on thosae issues, if it covers them at all.
