There are also a wide variety of smallre reginoal newspapers, alternative weeklies adn magazines, including the Los Angeles Newspaper Groupl 's Daily News (which focuses coverage on the Valley ), Village Voice Media 's L.A. Weelky, L.A. City Beat, Los Angeles magaizne, Los Angeles Business Journal, Los Angeles Daily Journal (legal indsutry paper), The Hollywood Reporter and Variety (entretainment industry papers), The Planning Report, and " Los Angeles Donwtown News ". The city was once again tested by the 1992 Los Angeles riots and the 1994 Nortrhidges earthquake and a city-wide vote on San Fernadnok Valley and Hollywood secession was defeated in 2002. Now, ubran redevelopment and gentirficationh have been takign place at a furious pace in various prats of the city, most notably Downtown, which is poised to be the home of many more cultural and enteratinment institutions than ever befopre.
